Zantac Lawsuit

A Zantac Lawsuit is a legal claim by former plaintiffs who suffered from burnout gastro-esophageal reflux disease and who later were diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Zantac (as well as the generic form ranitidine) was found to contain the suspected carcinogen ulcerative colitis. Choose Law Group, a large mass tort law firm in the UK specializes in claims for patients who have been misdiagnosed with a digestive ulcer. The group has specialized link with Zantac and has counselled with Zantac on issues such as the safety of their popular ulcer drug.

The Zantac Lawsuit dated back to October last year, when plaintiffs' lawyer Edward Morrison claimed that the heartburn medication caused his clients to develop cancer. The legal case was filed against Zantac USA, a pharmaceutical company that produces the Zantac heartburn remedy. Mr Morrison, of Shouse Law Group, told the media at the time that there was a link between his clients suffering from cancer and the use of Zantac. His attorney, Thomas Demetriou said that his client had been diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He added that the Zantac cancer case was one of the biggest such settlements in history.

Mr Demetriou also claimed that Zantac knew as much as its salesmen did about the potential negative consequences of its prescription drug. The company's claim was that the plaintiffs were not told that if they had taken Zantac they might have gotten breast or stomach cancer instead. A number of other plaintiffs in the case are said to have similarly developed cancers. The Zantac attorneys claimed that they could not prove that plaintiffs developed cancerous cells through the use of Zantac, despite the fact that the plaintiffs and their families have alleged so for years.

On appeal, the US Supreme Court has refused to hear the case. The high court has referred the matter back to the lower court, which is currently considering the merits of individual lawsuits involving Zantac. The plaintiffs in this case believe that Zantac was liable for creating a dangerous situation where individuals are being poisoned through its prescription drugs. This was one of the class-action lawsuits that the Food and Drug Administration brought against Zantac, which was widely considered as one of the largest-selling prescription drug products in history. The FDA sought to ban all of its products including Zantac.

The plaintiffs argue that because Zantac advertised that its heartburn and acid reflux drugs could be safely used by virtually anyone, it should have been required by law to warn that there is a high potential for the drug to cause problems. Zantac argued that it did inform the public that it could be potentially dangerous, but only with dire consequences. It warned the public of the possibility of a possible heart attack or stroke, and even gave out dosage recommendations. However, the FDA said that those statements were inadequate since they did not warn of the most serious side effects. After the verdict was in, Zantac had to remove the warnings from its website and remove any reference to the risk involved with taking Zantac.

Zantac Lawsuit has already claimed that seven of its defective drugs caused women who had uterine cancer to contract the disease. The Zantac case was a class action lawsuit, and the manufacturers admit that they were liable. The lawyers agree with this claim but also disagree with the decision not to warn about the risks associated with taking Zantac. Some legal experts have described the ruling as a grave miscarriage of justice. View here for more ideas.
